Jang Han-Na

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze inter-locality differences in dementia service delivery. For this study, first, I used regression analysis to identify a different characteristics between business type under the local government management and contracting-out type. Second, I analyze the various differences of two local governments by operational types. The findings are as follows. First, the local governments of municipalities which have experienced rapid population aging and
which have an enough number of long-term care hospitals tend to have publicly run dementia service programs. On the other hand, the local governments by operated contracting-out enterprises have abundant medical infrastructures and superior socio-economic conditions. In conclusion, the local governments in a rural community assume the form of business under government management because of a speedy aging and the demand of dementia support services. Nonetheless, rural government are in great shortage of medical manpower and infrastructures than urban governments. Therefore, rural governments for preventing the dementia need to expand manpower and budget for the dementia support services and strengthen a role of the dementia center in community health center to raise expertise of the delivery system for the dementia.
